Toyota Financial Services (TFS) team members from the Western Customer Service Center (CSC) in Chandler, Arizona volunteered to create supply kits for teachers in their community. As part of the national effort, TFS Thanks Teachers, 280 volunteers packed and delivered kits to the 2,268 teachers in the Chandler Unified School District (CUSD).
There was plenty of emotion from both sides during the delivery as some team members carried kits into the same schools that their children currently attend or graduated from. TFS Customer Service Representative Marisela Ceja Galindo said that she appreciated being able to deliver 45 teacher appreciation tote bags to the elementary school that her son graduated from.
The teachers and staff members were overwhelmed by the generosity and support from both Toyota and the Western CSC team members. “I feel so appreciated getting the Toyota bag of supplies,” said Carrie Shields, a Hull Elementary School teacher. I want to say thanks from the bottom of my heart. My job is a tough one and this little thank you makes me realize people “out there” know it’s tough!!”
Chandler Unified School District Superintendent Camille Casteel, Ed.D . also expressed her gratitude via a note in which she said, “Please extend my heartfelt appreciation to all who are responsible for the teacher appreciation bags. I was at Sanborn when they received them and they were so excited. They gasped when I told them TFS sent (the kits) to all teachers. Your organization’s commitment, generosity and focus on CUSD and our staff is unprecedented.”
The Western CSC team members were very proud to participate in the TFS Thanks Teachers event. The smiles, hugs, and thanks received in return gave everyone involved a feeling that they made an IMPACT while making life easier for the teachers in their community.
