For many of us, we look forward to the holidays all year long. It’s when we get to spend time with family and friends, eat good food, and have fun exchanging gifts. Unfortunately, for a lot of the foster kids at the Boys & Girls Club, the holidays may not automatically have these same positive associations.
In an effort to change this, on December 22nd, the Kansas City Dealer Sales and Service Office (DSSO) worked with the Boys & Girls Club to give 15 teens in foster care a holiday party to remember. These teens came to the office for a fully catered lunch, followed by fun and games. DSSO team members played cards, Wii, and sack toss with the teens, before eventually moving everyone into the main conference room. Once everyone was gathered, the teens were presented with Christmas gifts provided by the DSSO team. Thanks to the Club staff, the teens were surprised with many items right off their wish lists.
The KC-DSSO team reported that the event truly resonated with all who participated.
