On July 28, 2016, the Leaders in Training (LIT) from the Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley toured Toyota Financial Services (TFS) Customer Service Center-West (CSCW). The LIT program was created to teach teens skills needed to land their first job. During the program teens learn how to write a resume, prepare for interviews and dress for success while they practice their skills assisting in the different roles available at the center.
Chris Brenner, Corporate Manager of CSCW, kicked off the tour by explaining to the teens what we do at TFS and reviewed our commitment to the community. His advice to the teens was to not only use Toyota’s two mantras in their work life, but also their personal lives: treat people with respect and strive for continuous improvement.
Team members volunteered to give teens an overview of the different types of jobs and departments within CSCW.
The tour wrapped with a presentation by Andres A Sanchez, a current TFS intern and former Diplomas to Degrees participant. Andres shared what he has learned during his internship, the importance of networking, and what interns should do to prepare to be an intern when they are eligible.
