A small team of Toyota Financial Services (TFS) volunteers took on the rewarding task of encouraging Girl Scouts from across Arizona and California to express their goals at the biennial Girl Scout Jamboree. The theme of the Jamboree this year was Star Wars.
Past, Present, and Future goals were the focus of the event as hundreds of girls made Dream Sticks out of door hangers. The girls used donated materials to commemorate past goals achieved, present goals being obtained, and future financial and personal goals they desired. “The rewarding part of volunteering at the Girl Scout Jamboree was watching the girls be resourceful with creative ways to expand their Dream Sticks so they could fit all of their, seemingly never-ending, financial dreams and goals,” commented Andrea Thompson, Toyota Financial Services, Business Solutions Advisor, Customer Service Center West (CSCW). Day two included a wide range of activities, including chemistry, engineering, finance, art and sports and closed with the girls sharing a recap of their experience.
“The Girl Scout Jedi Jamboree attendees grew closer to financial independence because of the wonderful Toyota Financial Services volunteers who generously shared their knowledge and skills,” stated Margaret Spicer, Girl Scouts Cactus-Pine Council.
