In November, Team IMPACT members partnered with the local grassroots chapter of Shoes That Fit to provide shoes and boots to underprivileged children in the school district. Founded in Claremont, California, in 1992, Shoes That Fit is dedicated to giving new shoes to children in need so they can attend school in comfort and with dignity, better prepared to learn and play. CSCC was proud to deliver 250 pairs of shoes and boots in support of the program.
In December, CSCC team members participated in the Holiday Giving Tree, a project focused on fulfilling the holiday wish lists of those receiving services at two local charities, the Catholic Worker House and the Area Substance Abuse Council (ASAC). The Catholic Worker House is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide food, shelter, and other assistance to those in need. The ASAC provides comprehensive substance abuse prevention and treatment to help individuals, families, and communities be healthy and drug free. In total, CSCC team members donated nearly $1,000 and fulfilled the gift wishes of 175 women and children.
In addition to their efforts during the holiday season, CSCC team members showed their giving spirit all year long. By way of casual day coupon purchases, CSCC raised nearly $23,000 in donations for 13 local charities. These charities provide aid to children, young parents, families, the elderly, veterans, the homeless, and those with disabilities, whose needs range from crisis support to end of life care.
